In 2022, it became apparent that to understand what is happening in Cataract Canyon, that study efforts needed to be expanded. Being able to compare and understand another tributary of the Colorado and how it is also affected by being impounded behind Glen Canyon Dam will help to gauge rates of change, effects of the sediment deltas, and river recovery rates.
